Choosing an NDIS Provider in Adelaide: 10 Questions to Ask

With hundreds of NDIS providers operating across Adelaide, choosing one can feel overwhelming. The good news: a few direct questions will quickly separate quality providers from the rest.

The 10 questions

  • Will I have a consistent support worker, or a rotating roster of strangers?
  • Can I meet my support worker before services start — and request a change if it's not a fit?
  • What screening do your workers hold? (Expect: NDIS Worker Screening plus police checks.)
  • Who do I contact when something goes wrong, and how fast do you respond?
  • Do you charge in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, with no hidden extras?
  • What is your cancellation policy — both ways?
  • How do you support participants from different cultural backgrounds?
  • Can you show me your complaints and incident procedures?
  • Do you genuinely service my suburb, or will travel charges eat my plan?
  • What happens if my regular worker is sick?

Red flags to watch for

Be cautious of providers who pressure you to sign long agreements on the spot, can't explain their pricing clearly, or won't let you meet workers in advance. Your plan, your choice — a quality provider will never make you feel otherwise.

Switching is easier than you think

If your current provider isn't delivering, you can change. Check the notice period in your service agreement (commonly 2–4 weeks), then your new provider can coordinate the handover so there's no gap in support. We help Adelaide families make this transition every week.
